Anxiety Attacks And Natural Cures

The general population suffers from anxiety attacks much more than was once believed. It is estimated that roughly 1 out of every 75 people has a reoccurring problem with panic attacks. In the past it was not viewed as seriously as it is today, however modern medical professionals now recognize it for what it has always actually been - a serious medical condition that can very adversely affect a person's life. The panic attack is often followed by bouts of depression that further complicates life for a person with anxiety attacks and the related problems. Additionally, the stress from these bouts can, and often will create heart issues.

No one is sure exactly what the triggers are to create this problem. There is evidence that anxiety attacks first generally appears during the early teens or perhaps in a person's early adult life. When it begins to manifest itself is when life's events start to take place. We all know that early adult life requires major decisions and transitions. These events such as going to college or graduating from college, deciding on a career, getting married, having a first child, and a host of other social and financial occurrences.

Research in recent years provides some evidence for a genetic predisposition. It is felt that it can follow within families almost in a hereditary manner. Should you live in a family where one member has had panic disorder problems than it has been demonstrated that you have an increased risk of suffering from it yourself. This family induced predisposition is especially noticeable if you are in a high stress occupation or relation.

Naturally enough the main question for anyone with this condition is what can be done to overcome anxiety attacks. A visit to a doctor or psychiatrist usually results in a person being given a prescription for medication in a rushed attempt for a solution and with the belief that it will provide the fastest solution to your anxiety problem. Although medications have been an accepted treatment there is more and more weight in today's medical circles towards a more "natural" treatment approach. This is based on the position that the problems with anxiety attacks originate with the mind. In fact, many in the medical community are of the opinion that this approach is taking preeminence over medication.

There are many accepted testimonies of people overcoming anxiety attacks and bouts of depression. For this reason a person should never give up hope in seeking a solution to their particular issue and should study and pursue those methods that produces verifiable results. Only by keeping this positive type attitude and refusing to let it rule in your life can this harmful health issue be controlled.
